Anonymous Swedish clavichord ca. 1750

Small double fretted clavichord after an anonymous 18th c. clavichord at the Stockholm Musikmuseet collection, numbered
NM264785a. It strikes an excellent balance between the requirements for a reasonably powerful tone and a small dimension. This clavichord is fretted in a diatonic way starting from the second octave. The first octave is unfretted.

C/E-c3 short octave, with split sharps D/F# and E/G#, tuning after wish (e.g. Kirnberger 3, Werckmeister 3, meantone, etc.), outer dimensions approx. 114.0 x 34.0 x 12.0 cm, case in wild cherry wood or pear wood, wrestplank in oak, bridge in beech, lime keyboard with boxwood plates and sharps in pear wood.
